We live in Queen Street about 600 metres from Brisbane City Centre. There are numerous facilities and activities within an easy walk. They include Queen Street Shopping Mall, department stores, Botanical Gardens, Art Galleries, museums, theatres, entertainment precincts, Chinatown Mall, Southbank Recreation Complex, markets and more than a dozen nearby restaurants, cafes and bars. Supermarkets, wine merchants and bread shops are all located within 5 minutes walk. Canoeing, rock climbing and cycling activities are all available nearby.
Eagle Street ferry terminal and Riverside Centre are only a 5 minute walk along the riverside boardwalk. The river ferries provide access to attractions and suburbs upstream and downstream over an 18km stretch of the river. Free river ferries and free buses which have stops within 300m of our home provide access around 5km of the inner city.
Brisbane City is a great base to explore South-East Queensland's beaches, offshore islands, wildlife, wetlands, mountains, theme parks, animal parks, vineyards, fine restaurants, theaters, shops and entertainment facilities.
Our home is about 20 mins by taxi, train or shuttle bus to the international airport, and 10 minutes walk to intercity and interstate bus and train terminals. The Gold Coast, with its beaches, theme parks and scenic hinterland is just 1 hour from Brisbane by car, train or bus. Noosa on the Sunshine Coast is about 2 hours away by car.
