We live in Bridgeman Downs, a suburb of Brisbane the capital city of Queensland. Brisbane is midway up the east coast of Australia and enjoys a glorious sub-tropical climate. With the Gold Coast to the south and the Sunshine Coast to the north, domestic and international airports close by. It is an ideal destination for holiday makers.
The Gold Coast is just an hour south of Brisbane and extends beyond the Queensland / New South Wales border. Famous for its beaches including Broadbeach, Main Beach, Surfers Paradise, Burleigh Heads and Coolangatta in Queensland, and Tweed Heads and Kingscliff in New South Wales, the Gold Coast is also home to several theme parks and is backed by a beautiful hinterland region.
The Sunshine Coast begins 30 minutes north of Brisbane and is easily accessible by car, and provides an excellent beachside destination all year round. The Sunshine Coast takes in the beachside town and cities of Caloundra, Mooloolaba, Maroochydore, Coolum and Noosa - and the mountain villages including Maleny and Montville in the Noosa Hinterland. The Sunshine Coast is also home to several theme parks, including Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo, the Buderim Ginger Factory and the Big Pineapple.
Bridgeman Downs is a quiet suburb with bars, restaurants and shops within walking distance. More nightlife, restaurants bars, shopping centre, cinemas etc are a short bus ride away. The bus service into the city and surrounding area is excellent.
