The elegant pole pavilion family home offers a private peaceful sanctuary amid a pristine Australian bush setting at the end of a quiet tree lined cul-de-sac with the main pavilion overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The four pavilions take advantage of the ocean breeze and are connected by an above ground timber walkway. The pavilions consist of the main building with a large bedroom and en suite, open planned kitchen, lounge and dining areas. This area fully opens, on the ocean side, to a covered veranda dining area with ocean view. Under the main pavilion are three large bedrooms with another lounge room and veranda. A tree top timber walk way leads to another pavilion with two bedrooms, bath room and lounge room. Further along the walk way is a large TV/office which can also be used as a bedroom. Finally the walk way takes you to the double garage and back to the main pavilion. The home is a perfect place to easily accommodate twelve adults (6 couples) with any number of children on throw downs mattresses. The cooking and eating facilities can accommodate a large number of people. The main bedroom and one other bedroom are air-conditioned. Running alongside the home is bush walkway track which leads to a secluded bay beach. Coolum Beach is patrolled by the Surf Lifesavers. The home is equipped with surf boards, flippers, inflated surf ski and fishing rods. For a relaxing holiday the house cleaning, cooking and ironing can be continued under present arrangements.
Both Anne & I are professionals. My wife is a Registered Nurse and I retired as General Manager Carlton & United Breweries North Queensland and now act as a business consultant to the construction and facility maintenance industries as well as military bases. We live in Coolum Beach but spend most on the year travelling Australia involving seven months to a year away from home. We have five children with one son living in London. This is our first venture into home exchange. We have lived most of our lives in the tropics we would like to experience a âwhite Christmasâ with our son and family. With the type of consultancy work in which I am involved we can be away from home for an indifferent amount of time.
We have made a number of trips individually to Europe but none as a family.
Coolum beach is located right in the heart of the Sunshine Coast in South East Queensland. The blue waters of the Pacific Ocean roll onto a fantastic two kilometre beach with patrolled swimming beaches. The area is best described as a quiet family beach holiday area with shopping, restaurants, natural woodlands, bushwalks, childrenâs playgrounds and public barbecue areas fronting the Pacific Ocean. Easily accessible is Noosa with fashionable shops, cafes and restaurants, Maroochydore with the business area, Yandina and its Ginger factory, Eumundi with outstanding Saturday markets, Montville with markets and mountain drives and Mount Coolum which offers a challenging climb with extensive ocean and inland views. A short drive to the south is the famous Crocodile hunter, Steve Erwinâs, Australian Zoo. North of the Noosa River is 60 km of the Great Sandy National Park accessible only by 4 wheel drive on the beach front sand. This beach stretch from Coloured Sands to Rainbow Beach (with the Cherry Venture ship wreck) offering beach camping, bush walks and access to Frazer Island the World Heritage listed sand island area with pristine rainforests, incredible clear blue lagoons and fishing beaches . We have available a 4 wheel drive and tents. Brisbane is 1 hours drive south with Maroochydore airport ten minutes away (no aircraft noise as the airport is the other side of the mountain). Air travel offers cheap and easy access to the rest of Australia.
