Acerca de nuestra casa

Our beach house was completely rebuilt in 2002 to provide comfortable accommodation for up to six adults or four adults and up to four children, in a compact (125 sq m) design ideally suited for a relaxed holiday mood. It is fitted with all the modern facilities to make your stay easy and memorable. The lounge, dining and kitchen areas are open planned, with direct access to a covered patio and sunny private courtyard via a glass wall which fully folds aside. The courtyard has the famous Aussie barbecue built in. The large kitchen is fully equipped and the lounge is provided with a home theatre (surround sound) system and hifi. Two of the bedrooms have queen size beds and built-in wardrobes, and the third bedroom has a single bed, a double bunk and a trundle bed. There is a separate laundry room with an automatic washing machine and dryer, and a second WC. The beach is a mere 150 metres away, at the end of the quiet street. The beach itself is magnificent, with classic yellow-white sand stretching kilometres to the north, whilst just several hundred metres to the south is a patrolled swimming area where life savers keep watch during holiday periods and weekends.

Más sobre nosotros

  1. We are Helen, a health professional specialising in working with the elderly in the public health system, 50 something, and John, an architect who prefers to design houses, play golf and go sailing, 60 something. We are semi-retired. When time permits we are busy turning what was a cow-paddock around our Rosebank house into a sub-tropical rainforest. And, we like to travel.... Exchanges do not have to be simultaneous, as the beach house is a second house. Our home is at Rosebank, in the hinterland of Byron Bay, about 50 minutes drive from Cabarita, on a rural property which could also be included in the exchange and where we can also offer hospitality in a self-contained guest suite. It may be possible to include a car, and we may also be able to arrange an airport pickup, but all this will need to be worked out when details of the exchange are being considered. Smoking is OK on the patio or in the courtyards (out of consideration for the guests who follow).

The beach is in its natural state, with dunes at the high tide mark. The water is sparklingly clear and visitors from cooler climates find the temperature suitable for swimming all year round. As well as for swimming and sunbathing the beach is famous for its fishing, whilst the nearby rocky headland has some of the best surfing breaks to be found anywhere. Whales can be seen from the headland during the migration season (June to September). Our climate is sub-tropical, so you can enjoy our area any time of the year. Cabarita Beach is a small village located on the Tweed Coast of northern New South Wales, just south of Kingscliff, about half way between the famous Gold Coast of Queensland (with fabulous shopping and wonderful theme parks) and the renowned holiday spot of Byron Bay, both about half an hour's drive away. It is a mere 15 minutes drive from the international airport of Coolangatta, and less than 90 minutes driving from Brisbane. Coolangatta is about a 90 minutes flight from Sydney. The hinterland of the Tweed valley is located in the remnants of a large shield volcano, the centre plug of which remains as Mount Warning. The area abounds in national parks and natural beauty, and provides for plenty of outdoor activities in addition to the beaches. For lots of interesting and fascinating information on this area we recommend you visit websites such as www. bigvolcano. com. au, www. virtualbyron. com (spectacular! ) and www. tweed-coolangatta. com.
