Bondi is one of the most exclusive areas of Sydney. Bondi or "Boondi" is an aboriginal word meaning "water breaking over rocks" or "noise of water breaking over rocks." This noise of water comes from the Bondi Beach, one of Australia's most famous beaches and among the world's most well-known beaches. There are activities all year round at Bondi Beach, from surfing competitions and kite flying to festivals, markets and galleries. There are lots of great coffee shops and places to eat along the beach and tucked away in the back streets. Bondi is 15min drive from Sydney centre CBD and other prominent and interesting places such as Watson Bay, Double Bay, and Darling Harbour.
