Acerca de nuestra casa

This is a warm and roomy, "feel-good house". It is renovated, but maintains lots of character. We love antiques, but all appliances are new. It would sleep 5-6. Two bedroomns have double beds and the third has twin beds. The backyard is pretty and private with a small pond & waterfall, gardens and pergola. This would be a fun house for families - playing professional drum set, numerous accoustic and electric guitars, keyboards. Use of bicycles, toys, air hockey, golf & sports equipment. There is baseball with two nearby parks, basketball in the driveway or at parks, road hockey equipment, and free tennis courts are a 5 minute walk. For a small fee you can use any of the swimming pools in the city. We have free internet and cable TV. Also stereo with lots of music to enjoy.

Más sobre nosotros

  1. We are both professionals – Dan (age 48) in Sleep Disorders, and Sue (age 51) works in the Foundation at a psychiatric hospital (previously a balloon event decorator and owner of a children’s shop). We have been married for 15 years and have two well behaved boys, Lee (age 14) and Geordie (age 11) who are growing far too quickly. Both our boys speak French, love animals, humour, science and reading, just to name a few of their interests. We are non-smokers. We're all excited about the great idea of house exchanging and living in another part of the world for a bit. We would take very good care of your home and plants/gardens, and would love and feed your animals.

We have 2 sweet budgie birds, a beautiful chameleon, and tropical fish. They can be taken care of elsewhere if you prefer.

It is located in a beautiful old tree-filled neighbourhood in Ottawa, lovely for evening walks. A few blocks away are trendy shops and restaurants. Downtown is 4 minutes away by car or you can cycle to downtown along the Ottawa River or the canal in 35 minutes. There is a local beach & patio serving beer and food and sunshine just 15 minutes away on bike or a 5 minute drive. The province of Quebec is just across the river a few minutes away by bike or car. There the lovely Gatineau Hills offer hiking & mountain biking trails, and beaches.

Ottawa is Canada’s capital and a gorgeous city. There are so many things for a family to enjoy – museums, art galleries, Parliament Hill, Byward market open daily, mini putt and regular golf, bowling, laserquest, great shopping, whitewater rafting and ongoing festivals. Here’s an example:
Bluesfest & Jazzfest: many stages and many famous singers, all outdoors downtown
Museum of Science & Technology: Fun and hands on for kids.
Museum of Nature: Gorgeous 3 storey stone – everything from dinosaurs to rocks
Museum of Civilization: Great children’s area, IMAX theatre, and then experience the walk through Canadian history tour – an amazing experience!!!!

Unlikely, but if you run out of Ottawa fun:
Montreal is 2 hours away.
Toronto is 4 hours away.
New York State, U.S.A. is 1 hour away.
