“Anne and Peter\'s home was perfect for our trip to Victoria. We enjoyed eating on the deck in the terrific August weather--not too hot. The neighbourhood is indeed very quiet and we were happy to have an off-leash dog park a couple blocks away. It was easy to take short trips downtown and to the Royal British Museum, Government House and Craigdarroch Castle. If you go, don\'t miss Butchart Gardens, which is impressive even to non-gardeners. Anne and Peter had everything prepared for us in advance and their consideration extended to their care of our house. We got to wave to them as our ferries crossed paths and only wish they lived closer so we could enjoy a meal or two together.”

Our home is in a lovely, quiet residential neighbourhood 10 minutes by car from the lively centre of Victoria, the capital of the Province of British Columbia. With bus stops just a few minutes away from us many visitors find it easier to leave their car at home or to walk from our house into town along the stunning waterfront, with views of the Olympic Mountains every step of the way. We're also just a short walk to beaches and parks and the shops, restaurants, cafes, library and community centre of Oak Bay Village. Everyone loves the world-renowned Butchart Gardens, and a little further afield you can sign on with bear-watching tours. Ferries sail from Victoria to Vancouver, the Gulf Islands, and to Seattle and Port Angeles, both in Washington State.
Victoria is a lovely small city with the mildest climate in Canada, never too hot or too cold. You can ski in Whistler, take a 30 minute direct fight, and be golfing in Victoria that same day - we have many world-class golf courses open year-round.
