Acerca de nuestra casa

Casa Paramojito is located in tiny Santo Domingo, a picturesque Costa Rican hamlet located just 4 kilometers (2 ½ miles) uphill along Calle Santo Domingo (located upon the main road running between Playa Sámara and Playa Carrillo). With a population of about 240 souls clustered about a soccer field, small school, village hall, and tiny Pulperia (Mom-and-Pop Store) its ocean views, and sea breeze, offer the perfect setting from which to enjoy the beaches and vacation while providing the peace of a private retreat for quiet evenings with the family.

Unlike many vacation homes, Casa Paramojito is located in a predominately Costa-Rican hamlet offering the vacationer a unique opportunity to enjoy the local flavors of Costa-Rica while still enjoying some of the nicest beaches in Central America.

Days are nearly bug free in Santo Domingo and the hamlet is very quiet every night by 8PM. Evenings are enjoyable both on the beach of Samara – with its many beach-side restaurants – and in the pool from where you can hear the waves crashing upon the shores of Samara and Carrillo beaches.

Más sobre nosotros

  1. I was born and raised in Central New York State. Speak very good German and some Spanish. Met my wife, Margaret (born in Poland), in Germany where I spent about five years. We have two adult children.
Currently living in Worcester Co., MA, USA. In January 2015 we found Samara and this house, which was at the time under construction. In late July of the same year we purchased the house and had it set up to live in by October 2015.

    Why Sámara, Costa Rica:
We had been to several locations in the Caribbean, Mexico, and California but enjoyed Costa Rica the most. It simply offers many more options for vacationers. The dual beaches, Samara and Carrillo, offer much to vacationers and the mountains offer many great views. When you add to this the amenities and realize that the mainland is really not that far away it is just great.

Sámara and Carrillo

A visit to Sámara and Carrillo beaches will reveal their many charms, and you will want to return to Santo Domingo in Sámara year-after-year. Playa Sámara, aside from its many evening and daytime locals located directly upon the 7Km horseshoe beach, offers the vacationer many of the amenities of more established vacation areas including: two banks with ATMs, two Surf schools, a language school, tour agencies for booking side trips which also provide tour buses, taxi services, car rental agencies, public bus access to all points in Costa Rica vie Nicoya, several grocery stores, bakeries, and coffee shops. Nearby activities include: Zip lining, deep sea fishing, horseback riding, ATV touring, yoga, beach volleyball, surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling, sea turtle tours, kayaking, hiking, biking, and a zip line.

Playa Carrillo which is just 8Km from Sámara, is one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful and unspoiled beaches. You will find a two lane boulevard along a white sandy beach lined with many palm trees and picnic table which is undeveloped. No hotels, no restaurants, no structures – just unspoiled beach. So, bring your cooler, drinks, and a picnic lunch and enjoy.

From Santo Domingo you have quick access to the beach and village of Samara while enjoying a quiet evening and night. Evenings you can hear the waves below crashing upon the shore while enjoying the balcony, wrap-around terrace, and a private pool virtually bug free. The view of the ocean is nice and that of the mountains as well. Short hikes along the mountain roads behind the house in the morning and evening are also pleasant.
