Acerca de nuestra casa

We live in what we believe is a very unique and beautiful apartment. Unique because it's got the perfect combination of modern design and convenience and the characterful features of a 19th century apartment building - like high stuccoed ceilings and an original grand staircase. And the rare combination of an extremely central yet quiet and leafy neighborhood - minutes' walk from many of Copenhagen's attractions. Beautiful because we modernized and furnished the 3 bedrooms, bathroom, large eat-in kitchen, living room and study in a clean, aesthetic but homey Scandinavian style. The balcony faces south-west and gets direct sunlight from morning to evening, overlooking the back garden, the lower houses along the streets behind, lots of trees - and the open sky. Great for lazy afternoons and summer evenings. There's a sand pit, swings and a play area in the back garden, and several playgrounds, cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and specialty stores literally around the corner.

The apartment easily accommodates five people, and if need be, also six. The kitchen is fully equipped, as we are a foodie family, and we have bicycles and all kinds of toys (0-5 years).

As a couple you'd love the luxury of a large, comfortable apartment; as a family you'd have plenty of space for everybody, great common areas and the balcony for the parents in the evening.

We love living here - and we're sure you (and your kids) will, too.

Más sobre nosotros

  1. We are a gay, Danish/Israeli, professional couple with a 5 year-old daughter. We met in New York while studying at university there, then lived in London for many years, and since our daughter was born we've been living in Copenhagen. We like traveling and exploring - we go on lots of vacations in other countries with our daughter, who is also a keen traveler (luckily for us!). As you can probably tell we like culturally diverse and central cities - both as a place to live and visit, but we also like taking beach holidays and exploring nature. We're new to home swapping, but are attracted to the idea of staying in a real home owned by like-minded people rather than a hotel. One of us is allergic to cats, so unfortunately we won't be able to exchange with a cat home.

We live in a very central Copenhagen neighborhood called Frederiksberg. The London equivalent would perhaps be Marylebone or Hampstead; in New York - Gramercy Park; in Paris the 4th, 5th or 6th arrondisement and in Tel Aviv the area around Kikar Rabin or Sderot Rothschild.

Leafy Frederiksberg itself is quiet, clean and safe and has great shopping - food and design especially - and is very child friendly. Frederiksberg is wedged in between the city centre and Copenhagen's two most interesting neighborhoods: hip, trendy Vesterbro and happening, culturally diverse Nørrebro, with everything they have to offer in terms of cafes, restaurants, nightlife and urban vibe. This means that you have everything that Copenhagen offers at your doorstep, while at the end of the day you can retreat to a peaceful base.

Our building is on a quiet street within walking distance to all the neighborhoods mentioned above and around the corner from the Forum metro, which takes you all over Copenhagen, including the airport.

Copenhagen has an amazing youthful vibe. It's surprisingly trendy and looks up to places like Berlin and New York, though with a slower pace of life. It's full of young families and because of that there are lots of activities for children, small and older, including museums, playgrounds, beaches and parks. On warm days you can head for one of the several city beaches or go swimming in the inner harbor. Copenhagen offers fantastic restaurants, great coffee and lots of museums. It's small enough go get around by foot or bicycle. Or if not, there's always public transport. You won't need a car.
