Acerca de nuestra casa

Our house, in the small town of Jyllinge, situated by the fjord of Roskilde (in-land ocean), is a one-storey wooden house (165 m2), with a large fenced-in garden containing terraces, BBQ-grill, large vegetable-garden, greenhouse, fireplace and a basketball net.

The house contains;
- a very large kitchen and dining area, with all the necessary facilities (dishwasher, stove, fridge,
etc.) and a large dining table.
- a large livingroom, with woodburning stove, TV (with 50 different channels, also foreign), stereo, dvd
- 1 masterbedroom with a double bed
- 1 room with a single bed
- 2 rooms with double beds (queen size)
- 1 bathroom
- 1 utility room with freezer, extra fridge, sink, washing machine and tumble dryer
Carport

The house is light, spacious and open, with wooden floors and a cosy cottage feeling to it, furnished in a Scandinavian minimalistic style... we think.
There are both wi-fi and internet connections (plugs) in all the rooms.

We also have 2 kayaks, which are perfect to enjoy sailing on the fjord, to explore the many small islets just out off Jyllinge. We of course have necessary swimming jackets in different sizes, although the protected waters are very shallow and calm.

Más sobre nosotros

  1. We are a family of five;
    Helle, 51 years (consultant, NGO) and Lars, 51 years (administrator) and three boys; Kalle, 14 years - Lasse, 17 years - Anders, 21 years
    We enjoy our newly established vegetable garden and the green house and try to produce as much as we can. We also have two dogs (Petit Bassets), hence the fenced-in garden, but they will stay at a kennel during the home exchange.
    Sofar we have made only one home exchange which we enjoyed immensely and we are fascinated and excited by the whole home exchange concept. We will of course treat your home with our utmost respect and care and we trust that you will do likewise.
    We welcome you to enjoy our home if you decide to visit Denmark.

We live in an area which used to be a summer cottage area, only a few hundred meters from the ocean. It's a beautiful inland coastal area (fjord) with three harbours and beautiful recreational areas, suitable for hiking, biking, boating, swimming etc. Jyllinge has a shopping mall, post office, museum, public sports centre, gym and swimming bath.

Living in northern europe we really enjoy the long hours outside in the garden, as the sun rise at 5:30 am and sets at 9:00 pm in the evening.

The nearest city is Roskilde, only a 15 min. drive away, with shopping malls, pedestrian streets, galleries, cafés, restaurants, cathedral, museums and a harbour.
Roskilde is one of the oldest cities in Denmark, dating back from the viking age.There is a viking ships museum, with the old preserved ships, as well as newly build copies which can be sailed during summer.

Learn more about Roskilde at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roskilde

Copenhagen - the main city and capital - is only a 40 minutes drive into the centre from Jyllinge and offers all the facilities, great restaurants, sightseeing and entertainment that any major city can offer. The worlds longest pedestrian street, Tivoli, The Little Mermaid, the harbour front etc. etc. and Copenhagen is a very beautiful and family friendly town, which you will enjoy for sure.

If you prefer the beach you are only between 30-40 minutes away in any direction from the most beautiful sandy, and children friendly beaches up on the northern coast of Sealand, or just south of Copenhagen.

If you want to explore Denmark, you are only a few hours drive from Jutland. The kids will love to visit Legoland!

PS - sorry for the winter time pictures. We will make sure to take some new pictures this summer to truly show the beautiful garden, the house, surrounding area etc. Just imagine a very green, flowery and light environment :-)
