Acerca de nuestra casa

We love our house. That's the short story.

It's an old house in an old neighbourhood with all the charm and soul of history. We've recently finished reshaping it in light Scandinavian style with classic modern Scandinavian furniture and decor.

First floor is the hearth of our house: With a combined dining- and living room it is where the family meets after hours. From the dinner table you have direct access to the modern style kitchen.
Speaking about the kitchen; it has all modern facilities. There's a dishwasher, oven, fridge, induction heating plates and of course a tv set, so that you can follow the events of the world while you cook.

The first floor also has a giant sofa, where you can enjoy cable-TV or just lean back and relax. From the living room there is acces to an elevated porch from which there is acces to the garden.

Second floor is about sleeping: With three bedrooms it is where the family sleeps; a childrens bedroom, the master bedroom and a spare roome/office. Besides sleeping you can watch tv in the second floor living room.

In the elevated basement you find a teenage room and the "closet room" where all the family's clothing is based. Also a bathroom and entrance.

The garden is a cozy place to relax - either in the hammock, on one of the two the terraces or on the grass. The sun is always a warm guest in the garden during summertime. Use our Weber grill to cook outdoors or make a bonfire in our campfire dish.

The New York Times and Lonely Planet agree with us: Aarhus is the place to be! Aarhus' historical charm and modern cultural and culinary puts in on the top list of cities to visit - and at the same time it offers the coziness and friendliness of a small town; it's the City of Smile and the Worlds Smallest Metropolis.

And in 2017 Aarhus ads on; it will be the European Capital of Culture and when you are here you will also - in the words of The Telegraph - be in the new culinary capital of Denmark.

We live in a quiet neighbourhood just 5 minutes from the centre of Aarhus. Aarhus has is all: The sea is a five minute bikeride away as is the beautiful seaside beech forrest.

And the culturual life is rich indeed!

To underline Aarhus's position as the cultural capital of Denmark the city is named European Culture Capital in 2017. In Aarhus we don't wait for 2017 to arrive: the cultural life of Aarhus is in full swing prepareing, developing and showing the world that Aarhus is indeed the capital of culture. Learn more on t he website (www.aarhus2017.dk/en)

Public transportation (busses and train) is one minute away from our house taking you to the city centre in less than five minutes, but we suggest you use our bikes in stead; In Aarhus everything is within biking distance. That includes the AROS art museum (www.aros.dk), The Concert Hall (www.musikhusetaarhus.dk), The City Shopping Centre (www.bruuns.dk) and the wide variety of music scenes, theatre and restaurants. Not to mention the beech forrest and the beaches.

Also close by is amusement parks LEGO-land and Djurs Sommerland, not to mention Randers Rain Forrest (northern Europes largest indoor rainforrest), AQUApark and so on and so on.

Aarhus has it all. Visit www.visitaarhus.dk to learn more - or write us...

Aarhus is in the middle of Denmark. There is practical no part of Denmark that can't be reached within a short trainride: Twice every hour the Express train leaves for Denmark's capital, Copenhagen, and northern Germany is just a carride away.
