Acerca de nuestra casa

Try this medieval experience with all modern comforts! We’ve kept the charm of the house with as many original features as possible intact and furnishings include some antiques. Exposed stones and beams and a superb stone spiral staircase create a unique ambiance. The ground floor has an elegant stone vaulted ceiling and houses the open plan kitchen/ dining/sitting areas.

The stone spiral staircase leads up to two big bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin), both with ensuite bathrooms. The double bedded room of 35 sq m has a high ceiling and exposed beams, sitting area and French doors opening to a tiny balcony. A 4m x 1.50m Florentine tapestry and 18th century fireplace (non-working) complement the wall of exposed stones featuring a mullioned window. The twin bedded room has a charming 19th century fireplace (non-working) and wall of exposed stones.

A further flight of stairs (steep) lead to the 30 sq m roof terrace with wonderful views across Roman-tiled roofs to the hills beyond. Here is a summer kitchen with fridge, sink, gas BBQ, washing machine and outdoor dining setting.

There's a CD/cassette player/radio with some CD's and cassettes, and a library of books.

A picture speaks a 1000 words - ours show 500 years of history, so please take a look!

We are an English/Australian couple from Sydney and have been living here in France for 16 years. This is a holiday home that we normally rent so we can offer either a simultaneous or non-simultaneous exchange.

Más sobre nosotros

  1. We are an English/Australian couple from Sydney and have been living here in France for 16 years. This is a holiday home that we normally rent so we can offer either a simultaneous or non-simultaneous exchange. Our house is available between mid-September 2008 and the end of May 2009, or from mid-September 2009 to end May 2010.

We are now seeking a two week exchange in Sydney commencing 28 December 2008.

We're aged 60 and 65, are non-smokers and would respect and take good care of your home. Ex- airline and travel industry personnel, we've travelled widely and continue to do so as much as possible.

We'd love to look after a cat as our current lifestyle means we are unable to have our usual pair of spoilt Siamese.

Ubicación

Barrio/zona

The house is in a quiet location in a lively, friendly village with restaurant/bar, internet cafe, mini-markets, boulangeries, butcher, fishmonger, etc. There's a big weekly market in the main square.

A 10 minute drive takes you to the pretty little port of Meze, where you can enjoy a seafood meal at one of the harbourside restaurants for a surprisingly reasonable price.

There are plenty of places of historical interest nearby and day trips can be made to Nimes, Arles, Avignon to the east, Carcassonne and the Cathar Castles to the west. Sophisticated Montpellier with international airport and train station and excellent shopping, is a 45 minute drive.

Montagnac is located in the heart of the Languedoc vineyards and there are many wine-tasting opportunities the area. Excellent location for walking and cycling (bikes may be provided if booked ahead).
