Acerca de nuestra casa

Our home is a single family house with garden, with three bedrooms and a study that can double as a bedroom, and 1 1/2 bathrooms. It is suited to pretty much anyone, but especially to families with young children. There are 5 bicycles, tabletennis, and many toys, as well as the usual amenities (washer, dryer, computer, etc.) Our neighbors have always proven to be very helpful with our guests, and many of them speak English.

Ubicación

Barrio/zona

Kleinmachnow borders on the southwestern side of Berlin. Our house is 50 meters from the former border (the Wall), and is well connected to the Berlin public transportation system. There are bus stops nearby, or you can take a five minute drive by car to a train station on a line leading right into the center of Berlin. Of course, you can also drive into the city, but the public transportation is so good here that you might as well use it. Kleinmachnow is situated between Berlin and Potsdam, so Potsdam is also easily reachable; the Sans-Souci Palace there is a must-see. Our neighborhood is green and treesy, and has always attracted many gardening types; if that is your interest, you will find many kindred spirits. Currently, many young families are moving to Kleinmachnow from the city. Daily needs (supermakets, open air market, bakery, natural foods store, ice cream parlor, restaurants, etc. are in walking or easy biking distance. This is an excellent area for bicycling, also for senior citizens and children; there are plenty of bike paths, it´s flat, streets are small, and the speed limit is mostly 30 kph (slow!). There are several lakes nearby where you can swim, and there is a forest in walking distance for hiking and jogging.
As for Berlin itself, for whatever length of time you stay here, there is plenty to do. Cultural, night life and dining opportunities are practically limitless, and if you come here with children, we can give you lots of suggestions of things to do.
