Acerca de nuestra casa

Our mid-size, clean home contains two living rooms and one bed room, a nice bathroom and a kitchen with a balcony attached. There is much light since the windows go out to both West and East. An expandable sofa is to be found in one living room, along with the old desk of my granfather and a big dinner table to entertain and enjoy company. If you need a bed for a 5th traveller, we have another matress to offer.

Más sobre nosotros

  1. We, Maike (30) and Walter (33)are historians by profession working at the University. While traveling a lot in connection to our reserach, we are still interested in going to places not connected to our work. This might be for a couple of days for leisure, but we dream about going somewhere for 1-2 months for writing in another environment.
We are both lovers of books, music and cinema and enjoy bycicle rides in and around the city.

Ubicación

Barrio/zona

We live in a flat just off the lively neighbourhood of Prenzlauer Berg. In the 1990s, many students moved here because of cheap rents and the vivid night live. During the last 15 years almost all old buildings from the boom-period around 1900 got restored, but you can still find one or two old ones in each street with a crumbling, morbid facade. Individual shops, good restaurants and nightlife are the reason, why Prenzlauer Berg is by now mentioned as a must-go in most travel guides. Clubs, bars, shopping can be reached in 3 Min. on foot as well as several childrens' playgrounds. Public transport to the very city centre is nearby and will take you in 10 Min to Alexanderplatz, 12 Min to Friedrichstraße/ Unter den Linden or Hacke'sche Höfe, from where you can reach the Museumsinsel or the Reichstag. But you can also reach Postdamer Platz or the Charlottenburger Schloß in West-Berlin easily via the circle line.
If you stay for longer: Dresden, Weimar and the Baltic Sea are good options for a day trip. Well, and surely Potsdam, the former residence of Old Fritz with its palaces and gardens just bordering on Berlin's outskirts.
Many budget airlines are flying to Berlin. The transfer from both Tegel- & Schoenfeld-Airport is simple; it's just 25/ 45 Min. by public transport from our place. In both cases you get off the train at Schoenhauser Alle, from where it is 5 Min. to our place..
