Acerca de nuestra casa

We live in a 10 year old 3 storey Duplex about 15 km or 20 min. north of Stuttgart in a family-friendly village environment. Our home is not cold and damp but considered spacious and modern. Nothing is wrong with my house. We heat with natural gas. We have a ceramic stove top. Germans consider our house upper middle class.
Our children sleep on the second floor (3 bedrooms), where the front rooms share a balcony. The third floor has our office, bed and my art space. Every floor has a WC toilet. The middle floor has a bathroom with tub and shower. The top floor has a bathroom with a shower and our dryer.

Ubicación

Barrio/zona

My town - Grosssachsenheim - is part of greater Sachsenheim -or 5-6 other incorporated rural, wine-growing villages that are part of the Stromberg nature preserve.
We live among or on top of rolling hills.
Below are the Glems, Enz and Metter River valleys, which feed the Neckar River starting in nearby medieval Besigheim.
The Enz river valley comes from the northern black forest - just a train trip past the cloisters of Maulbronn to the Moorish sauna at Bad Wildbad - and represents the local wine growing tradition of Trollinger /Lemberger wine. It is also a weekend recreation destination for jogging, kayaking, walking, biking and rollerblading.
The county seat is nearby Ludwigsburg with 3 famous baroque castles. The other villages are medieval. You can also visit Keltic grave mounds.
Heidelberg is one hour north. Rothenburg ob der Tauber is one hour East. Tuebingen is one hour south. France is two hours west.
I live in the newer part of town, which has everything you need by bike or on foot. We have a Wasserschloss - a little castle with a moat (now the city hall) and a Freibad (outdoor swimming pool). 20% of the population are foreigners (Southern Europeans) and many work for the auto industry in and around Stuttgart.

The local towns are charming and modern. The people here in Porsche, DaimlerChrysler and Bosch country are a mix of war refugees and immigrants working for the auto industry
