Acerca de nuestra casa

Our home is like an oasis in the heat of the tropics. There is always a cool breeze blowing across the front veranda overlooking the rice fields. I am always happy to come home after a day in Ubud or Denpasar and relax on the front veranda or upstairs porch. The roof is bamboo and thatch which keeps the house cool under the sun and dry during rainstorms. The floors are terrasso. Teak wood furniture. The downstairs is one large living room with a small kitchen area, bathroom, and front veranda. There is also a bedroom on the ground floor. The upstairs is one large room (which can be divided into two rooms if needed.) Upstairs has a lovely open porch. It's always cool at night so no need for air conditioning. Comfortable for 2-3 people.

Más sobre nosotros

  1. I'm and American woman who came to Bali 22 years ago. I fell in love with the music and dance, met and married my husband, and stayed in Bali. We built the house and I started a garment business, designing and printing batik fabric, and making children's clothing. I have two children. One daughter in college and a son in junior high.

The house was built 22 years ago and was the only house in the area , in the midst of the rice fields, just at the edge of the village Peliatan. Over the years so much building has happened that now we have neighbors on three sides. So there is plenty of local color. We live close by the very popular Warung Teges where you can buy delicious Balinese food. We have a Muslim prayer room to our east which has prayers on Friday afternoons and afternoon classes for kids. We have neighbors with motorcycles, kids, and roosters. It would be quiet at night except for the frogs and crickets. Peliatan, Ubud is cultural center focusing on music and dance, painting and woodcarving. There is local transport into Ubud and all over the island. In Ubud you can find many wonderful restaurants, shops, and yoga classes.
