Acerca de nuestra casa

The house is located on a hill in the Orcia Valley and surrounded by a large garden, with a big oak which provides a nice shadow in the summer months. The house itself is half the mansion you can see in the pictures, organized on two floors, with two bedrooms and two living rooms, one of which can be made into an additional bedroom if needed. The house is simply furnished and does not have some of the hi-tech toys of modern life (TVs, telephones or internet), however the location is great and
you may relax on the sun or take nice walks along
the pebble roads of Tuscany leaving right in front of the house gate. I am sure you won't regret them.

Orcia Valley is a very special part of Tuscany; it was recently declared part of the UNESCO world heritage because of its special "cultural landscape" which has been so often portrayed in movies and pictures; yet, relatively not exploited by mass tourism, it still preserves the authenticity of simple country life.
Lots of nice villages from the middle-age surround the house. The house itself is only half a mile from Contignano, a tiny village (500 people perhaps), where however you can find food stores, telephones, public internet, one good restaurant as well a panoramic swimming pool and a tennis field. Montepulciano and Pienza are only 20 minutes away, with their famous wines and cheeses, as well as nice architectures.
Siena, Florence and Rome are all within a 1 hour and a half drive (by italian standards :), 2 hours if you take it easy ), so you can use the place as a base point to reach virtually all of the nicest cities of central Italy.
