Acerca de nuestra casa

We live in an old school that was built 150 years ago but was converted into a house in 2005. So inside, everything is new. Our house is a family home with 5 bedrooms (2 double and 3 single, extra mattresses available if needed). Two bedrooms have en-suite facilities and there is also a family bathroom with jacuzzi. There is a big lounge, a large kitchen with gas cooker and electric grill and oven, and all the usual appliances. We eat in the kitchen. Upstairs there is a second lounge area where we watch TV and relax. Also upstairs there is a utility room where there is a washing machine. The house is particularily suitable for a family as there are lots of toys available for children between 4-12. There is a garden and behind the house are woods where we have seen deer. Parking is available in front of the house, but which is completely off the road and we can arrange for you to use our car. There are also bikes available for any age. The house is virtually opposite the famous cathedral in Dunblane, and so we are as central as can be. Shops and pubs are only 2 minutes walk away. Despite being in the centre of the village, we live in a very quiet area, as the house is set back somewhat from the road.

  1. We are a family of 5, Lloyd and Jessica with the children aged 13, 9 and 7.. We are bilingual English/Swedish and like to spend some of our summers in Sweden from where Jessica comes. Jessica works as a manager and runs Women's Aid service and refuge and Lloyd lectures in Middle Eastern Studies and Religious Studies at the University of Glasgow. We are keen on the outdoors, hill walking and sightseeing and as a result our home has a lot of information on things to do, wakling, climbing, and maps. There are also bikes avaliable as well as childrens seats for the car, trikes and other outdoor toys. We have had swaps in Sweden, Denmark, France and Iceland.

Dunblane is a village with an old town centre with a cathedral, beautiful riverside walks, quaint shops, cafes, pubs and a train station. The train will take you to the historic town of Stirling in 10 min, Edinburgh or Glasgow in 45 minutes and Perth in 30 minutes. The village is on the boundary of the lowlands and highlands. This makes the highland accessible for touring, climbing and walking. We are also an hour away from the coast and St Andrews as well as some gorgeous beaches, or if you prefer the shores of Loch Lomond. There is an excellent golf course in the village and several other courses close by such as Glen Eagles. There is much to see and do in the area. Of historic interest is Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument, Scone Palace, Castle Cambell, Doune Castle and many more attractions. There is also plenty to do for kids with some excellent playgrounds in the village as well as a new skateboard park, softplay, go-carting and swimming pools.
