Flamborough village itself has 4 pubs all serving good food. There is a Co-op for everyday food shopping, along with Newsagent, greengrocer, butcher, baker, chemist, hairdressers, cafes, and fish and chip shop.
All these are within a couple of minutes stroll from our cottage.
The nearest beach, about 15 minutes walk away, is lovely South Landing with its lifeboat station and wildlife centre. A popular spot with bird watchers and nature lovers. Deer and seals being regular visitors.
About 20 minutes walk in the other direction is North Landing with its rugged cliffs and enclosed bay where some of the scenes from the recent Dads Army film starring Catherine Zeta Jones were made.
About 30 minutes walk out to the headland takes you to Flamborough lighthouse and the old lighthouse.
A short drive takes you to Bempton Cliffs with its famous RSPB centre, from where you can watch the gannets, kittiwakes, puffins etc.
The busy seaside town of Bridlington is just a few minutes drive down the road. There you will find the fairground, new leisure centre, Spa theatre and working harbour . A mile inland is Old Town with its magnificent Priory church and Bayle Gate. Old Town is a totally unspoilt area with many building dating back hundreds of years. More scenes from Dads Army were made here. Definitely worth a stroll around.
