Acerca de nuestra casa

Our home is an Edwardian terraced house in the centre of Newquay town. Well proportioned and spacious this is a comfortable home from home. The downstairs rooms have original stripped floorboards with tiles in the kitchen. The front door leads onto a hallway with space for show storage. There is a large dining and sitting room with 2 sofas and a separate chair. There is a large pine dining table seating 6 comfortably. The kitchen is down the hallway and also has a small dining table for more informal dining or breakfast.
There are 2 double bedrooms, one single bedroom and a large family bathroom on the first floor. On the second floor there is a very large bedroom with an en suite including a bath and shower. The views over Newquay bay and up the coast to Padstow are spectacular. This room features a super king sized bed. An additional single bed can be put up in this room if required.
The kitchen includes a fan oven and gas hob with a wok burner. There is a fridge freezer with an additional drinks' fridge. There are doors from both the sitting room and kitchen onto a terracotta tiled terrace with a picnic bench.
Despite being in the heart of this seaside town there is a parking space at the rear of the property. Additional parking is available on the street with no restrictions but the spaces can be hard to find.
There is gas central heating if the weather is cool and an open fire for atmosphere. We have a complete Sky package including Sky Sports. There is a BT broadband hub and landline telephone.

Más sobre nosotros

  1. I am a secondary school teacher at a large local secondary school. I specialize in Textiles and am a head of year. My children are 10 and 12 so there are lots of games and books here for children of that age group as well as plenty for younger children. My boys are keen tennis players and also surf so there will be equipment available.
We love living in Newquay as there is something for everyone. It is a friendly town with scenery to rival anywhere else. If you enjoy an outdoor lifestyle the Newquay is for you.

Newquay is a vibrant coastal town on the North Coast of Cornwall. The town itself became important due to the fishing of pilchards from the early 19th century onwards. The cultural heritage of the town is still evident today especially at Newquay harbour which is a 5 minute walk away from the house. You can hire a jet ski from the harbour or go out on a boat trip. Gig rowing is part of the local tradition and many races take place during the summer months.
Fistral beach is the pre eminent surfing beach in Europe and is a 10 minute walk away. There are surf schools available with lessons for all abilities. There are another 7 beaches in Newquay, each with it's own character. There is a golf course 5 minutes away and a tennis club near the boating lake.
There are wonderful restaurants and cafes within walking distance, particularly if you want to try local fish and seafood.
There is a Sainsbury's supermarket close to the house. In Newquay town there are lots of shops, particularly ones associated with surf culture.
From Newquay you can travel all over Cornwall and the South West. St Ives is a 50 minute drive away and has the Tate and Barbara Hepworth gallery. The Eden project is a 40 minute drive and is a must see. Padstow is a quaint town built around a harbour with some world famous restaurants.
There are some lively nightclubs in Newquay as well as bars and more traditional pubs. As the house is central there is some noise at night from the town and also when people come home late at night and forget how their voices carry! At several points during the year there are fireworks, the view from the top room is amazing.
