Acerca de nuestra casa

We live in Jericho, in the heart of Oxford - a historic city with lots to see & do. We live in a four storey Victorian house, full of character with many period features and antiques. You will find yourself very centrally located on Walton Street. Jericho is a lively and popular area nestled amongst the beautiful medieval colleges of Oxford University, and surrounded by boutiques, delicatessens, bijou places to eat & drink, and a vibrant arthouse cinema. Once home to Oxford's artisan workers, the district is now one of the city's most deirable residential locations. Jericho lies between the idyllic green expanse of Port Meadow, where Lewis Carroll first told the story of 'Alice in Wonderland', and North Oxford's wide tree-lined roads. Port Meadow is a focal point for this part of Oxford, offering all the pleasures of the countryside just minutes from the city centre. This 350-acre of grassand still provides grazing for freemen's cattle and horses, follwing an ancient tradition. Keen walkers can follow the footpath from the meadow to The Perch or The Trout Inn, often featured in the Inspector Morse television series.

In many ways, Oxford is a city that needs no introduction. Renowned the world over as an historic seat of learning, it is one of England's foremost cultural and intellectual centres. Delightfully cosmopolitan, enviably charming. Ancient and modern sit side by side in this beautiful city. Professional couples and families seeking a stylish place to live in Oxford are drawn to Jericho's relaxed cosmopolitan atmosphere, prestigious schools and excellent transport links. The Oxford Canal, whih carried commodities from the city to the West Midlands in the pre-railway era, ends close to Jericho. Now, pleasure barges and narrowboats moor here, a colourful reminder of the area's past. The original narrow streets conceal some architectural gems. Gothic doorways, an extraordinary Italianate church tower and the magnificent classical headqarters of the famous Oxford University Press, all add to Jericho's appeal. Wander round the ancient colleges and galleries. Punt down the river on a lazy afternoon, sipping Pimms. Wonder at the quirky global antiquities in the Pitt Rivers Museum, or the breathtaking architecture of the Bodlian Library. And when escape from the city life is required, the beautiful Cotswolds are just a short journey away. Henley-on-Thames, Stratford upon Avon and other historic towns are all close by.
