Acerca de nuestra casa

Our home is in the centre of the small town of Pangbourne. It is a three bedroomed Victorian (1890) terraced cottage. Whilst it has all modern comforts and is well maintained, it retains its old English character including an open fire place. It has two double bedrooms and one single, a bathroom with bath, shower and toilet, sitting room, kitchen and dining/sun room. Outside it has a sitting area beneath a trellis of wisteria and roses and then a long garden with pond. The garden backs on to a lane which takes you either to the shops (3 minutes walk), the railway station and the River Thames (each 10 minutes walk) or to fields and the River Pang (three minutes walk).

Más sobre nosotros

  1. I am a legal counsel in my early 50's. I have two daughters who have now gone to university and a teenage son who visits me on weekends. My girlfriend is a doctor. I am very well travelled but have never tried a home swap. My house is not large but very comfortable, well presented and homely. Whilst I don't worship my possessions I look after them and would do the same whereever we visited.

Pangbourne is 50 miles west of London (50 minutes by train) 30 miles from Heathrow, 20 miles from Oxford, 10 miles from Reading and has good road and rail links. Pangbourne is set within the beautiful Berkshire/Oxfordshire countryside. Reading and Oxford are both vibrant towns and the centre of London is very easily accessible. Pangbourne has good pubs and restaurants and there are many others to explore in surrounding villages. Local shops supply most daily shopping requirements. There are good walks from the doorstep along the River Thames (on which there is canoeing etc.) and historic houses to explore. Nearby there are golf courses, shooting (clay pigeon), horse riding, mountain biking and a wild life park which is suitable for younger children. The Adventure Dolphin Centre at Pangbourne has a national reputation of excellence providing opportunities for young people (13 to 19 years) that are challenging and exciting, including: canoeing, kayaking, hill walking, rock climbing, multi-activities and orienteering. The stunning Mansion House of Basildon Park (as featured in the film adaptation of Jane Austin's Pride & Prejudice) is a 5 mile car journey from Pangbourne.
